How bad do you want Success?
It is imperative to understand that, Wealth is the direct result of achieving Success. In other words any individual who has great ambitions of becoming wealthy should in fact first get his acts together.
Most people want to become Wealthy, but they never do the things required to achieve wealth. No one becomes wealthy over night. In fact, wealth is the continuous execution of certain set of actions, day in and day out.
Michael Jackson, the king of Pop, sets standards for all
Take the example of Michael Jackson, the king of Pop. Did you know that Michael Jackson was the only artist ever to have been awarded the most number of times. He won the Grammy Award, 13 times. The Guinness World record, 23 times, The Billboard Awards, 40 times, the American Music Awards, 26 times.
All these accolades and honors were the direct result of Michael’s hard work. It important to note here the Michael practiced some of his steps off stage for a whopping non stop,17 hours. At times, his body became so depleted that he ought to be carried off home. Such was the work ethic of Michael the great.
Thus, earning him laurels and awards even from the then President, Mr. Ronald Reagan. His success on stage ensured that his legacy became immortalized so much so that countries began issuing Stamps in his honor, cities began honoring him with Regency titles.
All of these would not have been possible without the required action and the desire to go through the grind, nonstop. But the question to ask here would be, how many of us are prepared to go through the mill?
It was reported that Arnold Schwarzenegger trained 5 hours every day at the gymnasium and then headed off to the acting school and then on to attend classes in accent training, thus barely allowing any time for him to sleep. But on the contrary, we see the youths of the day are literally sleeping their lives away.
A lesson from Alexander the Great
The same can be said about Alexander the Great of Macedon. It was reported that Alexander trained using the Sarisa, a 18 foot pike with a sharp tip at the front, for hours every day, so much that his hands bled.
Not being satisfied with his physique, Alexander embarked on regular training of his mind. Alexander’s mother, Olympia, daughter of Neoptolemus, ensured that he attended private classes offered by Leonidas, who gave him lessons in Mathematics and Languages.
Unquenched and unsatisfied, Alexander learned the art of Military combat from from Lycemacus. Then, on his father, Philip II, hired the assistance of Aristotle, to teach him, Drama, Poetry, Art and Painting. Thus, transforming Alexander into a world conqueror that we now know off. Standing the test of time and change.
Now why do we say all that? Simple for the reason that Alexander clearly knew that to conquer the world he would first need to gain all of the knowledge and skills that were required. He trained, night and day, kept on the grind and until he saw his legacy engraved on the rocks of time with an Iron lead pen.
But today on the contrary, people, both young and old are unwilling to do put in the work. A question was asked to a group of 1000 students. If you had 2 extra hours a day, what would you do? 95% said that they would sleep, 3% said, they would learn a new language, while 2% said they would start an exercise program.
So now you know as to why, 95% are broke by the time they hit 65. It is said, when a child is born there is rejoicing in heaven. Rejoicing to the very fact that the child is blessed with all of the factors necessary to conquer the world, be it in arts, music, drama, sports or politics.
But the saddest part is, 99% don’t even know what they don’t know.
