Stay Strong

Every Good will be attacked, so Stay Strong

We live among a generation that is so much found of looking at the neighbor’s vineyard and conspicuously plot ways and means to acquire it or worse still live the lives out telling in the heart of hearts, “Oh! how I wish I had that vineyard, that which my neighbor now owns”

So they spend their lives either doing the former or the later, in either case they pay the penalty.

Story Time

There is a story in the Bible which talks of such a man named Ahab. Now Ahab was a king, and a ruler of the land where the people of Israel once lived. Now, adjoining his garden, there was this garden of a poor farmer which was blossoming with delectable vines.

Now, Ahab saw how great and wonderful this garden of the farmer was and so sent his men to force him into selling his asset. When Ahab’s men arrived at the farmer’s house, inquiring if he would sell his garden, the farmer, out rightly declined the offer of Ahab, and thus expressed the same to his men.

Ahab became so sad that he declined even to eat

When Ahab’s men returned and told him that the farmer would not sell his garden, Ahab goes into a state of grieving for days. Now, Ahab’s wife, Jezebel, who is the incarnation of evil, hears about her husband’s predicament and vows unto him that within a week the farmer’s garden would belong to him.

Now, as the story goes, this evil Jezebel hires a group of men with clear instructions that they should gather up false evidences suitably against the poor farmer, so as to malign his character and conduct.

You see, in the olden days, people always regarded others for the character and conduct that were explicitly known in public. However, this yardstick is only meant for the poor, for they had no voice for they had no money.

But apparently, such a measure never applied to kings and the influential, for they went about doing the things they wanted, destroying, stealing and robbing all of the things that the poor had. Yet still used their money and influence, to paint a picture of holiness and serenity.

Thus, day in day out, these scoundrels hired by evil Jezebel, tormented the farmer so much that he hanged himself, allowing Jezebel and her men to take possession of his garden.

Lesson to be learned

If only the farmer was strong, both mentally and physically, he would have had the courage to launch the frontal attack against that evil Jezebel and her men. Of course, they are strong, but it has to be known that even a Cat becomes a Tiger when cornered.

Never mind big or strong, the powerful and the influential, it is the ant that the Elephant fears and so much so that it is restless all through its lifetime. As the great Mark Twain once said, “It is not the size of a dog in a fight that matters, but the size of the fight in a dog that matters

You need to understand that, and this, for the world is filled with all sorts of people who would plot against you, day in and day out (source- Greg Pitt, the famous fitness Motivator). If you were to think that your friends are in your favor, then think again. For, the great Julius Caesar was killed by his dear friend Brutus.

Of course you would say, No ! but a whole lot of people were involved. But wait! we urge you to read the untold history. It was Brutus who told the plotters about Caesar’s habits, his moves, his daily routines. If not for Brutus, none would have even dared to have come near Caesar. And, the History of the world would have been much different today.

All good will be attacked

You might not like this, you might say, “Oh! no, I am a good man, a good woman, and I mind my business” Of course, you are good man or may be a good woman, and you mind your business, this was the same thing with that poor farmer, he had no issues with anybody and he went on doing his own chores. Yet the eyes of the devourer was all set at him and a plot was devised to get what he owned.

So, let that educate you. You might be on your chores, and minding your business, but the devourer will still come at you. Imagine you have a Wheat crop in your land, do you think the locusts of the field would let you harvest your yield just like that? If you were to think so, it would only mean one of the two, either the crop is not wheat, or that you are living in a different planet.

Let the Moral sink in you

The moral, all good will be attacked. Be it your pet project, your job, your business, remember you have eyes all over you. And the locusts would come to get all that you have. They would assassinate your character, your conduct, your virtues and make it look as if you are the most despicable man or woman on this earth. But as Jesus said, “let he who hath no sin, cast the first stone”

So, stay strong. One great man once said, “If people tell you that they are holy and you are the wretched sinner, then tell them to walk on water” For according to the Bible, “all have sinned and fallen short of glory”
