Define your Dream and Seize the Opportunity
The foremost responsibility in your life is to find out what’s your inner dream is and then work for it day and night. For if you don’t find out what’s your dream is, most too often you will be working for someone else’s dream, day and night.
The best way to know what’s your dream is, would be to find out what you are passionate about? Some are passionate in talking. For example, Mr. Les Brown, while in his youth, like to be a Radio Jockey. So day and night, he trained himself at a local Radio Station.
Then on for years he worked in a Radio station as an errand boy. Looking for an opportunity to audition. But he never got one. This never stopped him from trying, while still working as an errand boy.
Then one fine day, he received a call from the Floor Manager, telling him that the destined Radio Jockey has arrived on Floor, dead drunk, and asked him to call the Standby Radio Jockey. Mr. Les, just used his Creativity and told the Floor Manager, that the Standby Radio Jockey was drunk too and is nowhere to be found.
To this, the Floor Manager, simply said, “Les, what you suggest?” and Mr. Les, immediately, replied, “Sir, I can handle it and went on Air”. From there on, there was no turning back for the great Motivational Speaker and Businessman, Mr. Les Brown.
When you hold a dream passionately in your Heart, you will seize even the slightest opportunity to realize its fruition. For it is imperative to understand that Opportunities don’t come posing as Opportunity.
Life will never throw open the door before you. Most too often it would merely be an inch of opening that you will have. Your duty is to look for those small inches that life offers, gather them up, and soon in no time, they would add up to a mile. For the world is filled with people who are hungrier for Opportunities, but the problem is, they don’t have an hungrier eye to spot that inch. That trait of skill only dawns upon those who grind on their Dream, Day and Night.
