Get out of your Comfort Zone
We all love leisure and aspire to procure things that would make us comfortable. Just look at all of the Household goods sold in the market. The couches, the blenders, the coffee makers, the washing machines, the cots, the Air conditioners, the room heaters and the list goes on and on.
But have you anytime wondered, in a bid to stay comfortable when you buy these goods what becomes of your financial status? In other words, when you replace your old couch for a larger and more spacious one, you become poorer than the day before you went for the purchase. On the contrary the man who had invented and made the Couch is a step richer than the day before when his couch was lying there without any takers.
So,your continual desire to get comfortable is making you poorer by the day. It is always said that to achieve the 1% lifestyle, work ought to be put in. That would mean, grinding day in and day out, without too frequent leisure and that waking up at times when the whole world sleeps.
But imagine if you were to own that couch, that spacious one, do you think you would be able to rise up early in the morning with the cold North wind blowing gently around your room, and that your mind says, it is okay to cuddle a bit and sleep over till the dawn wakes you up.
Sleep and Poverty walks hand in hand
If you were to do this every day soon poverty would lay in waste at your door and the very couch that which was keeping you away from rising early would be snatched away from you.
The Bible, warns of being lazy and how laziness and poverty dwell together, and how the lazy man, because of his slumber doesn’t even bother to cook the meat that which he hunteth and lets it to rot. Pathetically terrible isn’t it?
On the Contrary those who work their butt out are rewarded handsomely. The great Hollywood star, Arnold Schwarzenegger had a work ethic of pumping iron at the local gym for 5 continuous hours, and then heading to an Acting school to learn acting, and then on to an Accent training school, where he learned to articulate well with clarity and precision. It is necessary to mention here when the whole world of fitness industry is advocating 8 hours of sleep, Mr. Arnold, advocates 6 hours of sleep.
What happens when you sleep an Extra 2 hours
Now have you wondered what happens when you sleep those additional 2 hours everyday. You would sleep 14 hours additionally for the week, and that would mean, 728 hours for the year. If we were to divide this with 8 working hours, then that would account for 3 months of working days.
Just imagine, you are sleeping away your precious time, when you were supposed to be up and working.
Time is Precious
You ought know that, most people think that they have all the time in the world, but the truth of the fact is, they don’t. You are strong today and blood is pumping all over you, but there is no guarantee that the status would remain the same. Why do we say that? Because the Bible says so, “for the life of man is liken to the grass of the field, today it is here, tomorrow it is gone”
The interpretation means that before sickness, unemployment and retirement strikes you, ensure that you had put your acts together. Why is it necessary? For these actions that you had taken whilst you were healthy would ensure that you would be able to handle the things that life throws at you.
As the great Hollywood actor, Mr. Sylvester Stallone, once said, “it is not how hard you hit that counts, but it is how hard you get hit and rise up that counts” Truly, the race is not for the swift but for those who endure the hard times, for with the morning comes the limitless joy.
So wake up from slumber and start the grind.
